Songs of solidarity and loss

What I am listening to as I stitch together elements of the next big thing – a project around broadening out the skills, the capacities. And that includes solidarity.

“Said whatever happened to the protests and the rage?
Whatever happened to the voices of the sane?
Whatever happened to the people that gave a damn
Did that just apply to dying in the jungle of Vietnam”

and, of course, the most amazing lyrics I have ever encountered

And did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
