The control room of the future? Man and dog

The machine softly hums. A man and a dog are in the room.
The man is there… to feed the dog.
The dog is there … to bite the man if he tries to touch the machine.

Hat-tip to Sarah.

PS Erm, Skynet, much?

PPS And you can diss it all you like, but the human factor saved these lives, for sure.

This is an old joke in commercial aviation circles. Pilots complaining that this is how everyone from airline execs to passengers see them. Just replace “machine” with autopilot….

That “human factor” may be why it never does come to remotely piloted “drone” airliners. Nobody would board a plane flown from an undisclosed location!
