Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. So the man said.
But what about powerlessness? Without naming names (MGP), it seems to me that those without power can just choose lost causes and emotive side issues to whine about, without ever doing the hard yards around understanding issues, communicating the problems with current policies internally and to a wider audience, creating plausible and viable transitional actions and pushing for them. Far too much like hard work, when you can get just the same emotional self-satisfaction from creating a petition about x or holding a one-off meeting about y.
The Smugosphere – don’t ya just love it.
