… they can’t see what’s all around them.
They have forgotten (if indeed they ever knew) what it is like to be a genuine newbie, having walked into a room of people they don’t know.
There’s no “selection pressure” on them to reflect, because they can always come up with a way to explain away the fact that so few come back, sustain their involvement.
So, what is to be done?
Steer clear of goldfish, while trying to set a good example/getting on with it yerself, I guess.
