Three things that cogs need

There was a great comment under an article at Harvard Business Review on “what good bosses believe.” Underlings need

* To know what’s expected.
* To know how they are doing in terms of those expectations and
* To know how you (as their boss/mentor) are going to help them get there.

Actually, they need a fourth thing – to have a say in what is expected and why – this advice above is about creating happy cogs in a machine whose operation and direction are designed and maintained for the benefit of a few Rich People at the expense of, well, everyone and everything. But still and all, within the narrow framework, it’s good advice…
