If I won the lottery, I’d read…

If I were to win the lottery and could sub-contract out my responsibility to be an engaged citizen (like, paying someone else to go the gym for me) then, from last week’s Financial Times Life and Arts section I would buy and read and blog about –

Tony Judt’s The Memory Chalet (Judt died recently of MND, thinking and writing all the way. He was a mensch.)
CJ Chivers The Gun: The AK-47 and the Evolution of War
George Perec’s A Void (It’s the novel in French without the letter “e”. Gilbert Adair’s translation keeps the rule, as does James Lovegrove’s review of its cover.)
Stephen King’s Full Dark, No Stars
