Classic smugosphere moment. Can’t go into detail because it would be unfair and unwise, but just had a lovely interaction with someone who is campaigning on issue X, and assures me that the key demand they are working towards is in the Manchester Climate Change Action Plan.
It absolutely bloody isn’t. Should be, for sure, but isn’t. Any campaigner worthy of the name would have spent the three minutes necessary to read the relevant page in the Action Plan. You know, to know the terrain?
In the smugosphere, facts don’t matter. Credibility doesn’t matter. Feeling smug matters.
